The Smokehouse Gallery at Whippoorwill Academy and Village is hosting the art
show opening “Landscapes of Western North Carolina” with work by artists, Betty
Powell, Mary Dobbin, Susan Powers and Margaret Carter Martine on Friday, August
12 at 6:00. Also that evening there will be poetry reading by Bud Caywood, Kelly
Demaegd, Melissa Hager and Kendal Privette on the stage of the “Pickin’Porch”.
The Six Water Pots Vineyard and Winery will also be having a wine tasting at this
event. Come enjoy a breathtaking view, art, poetry and locally made wine.
Whippoorwill Academy and Village is a non-profit historical and educational village
that promotes the arts, history and education. It is located at 11928 Hwy 268 West,
