- Sunday, June 7th is National Daniel Boone Day and Whippoorwill Academy and Village will be open from 1-5:00 for self-guided tours. This is not a festival and there will be no food for sale. Visitors may bring a picnic and are asked to practice social distancing. Masks are appreciated.
- There will be live music earlier in the day and some demonstrators will be available at some of the sites. Melissa Williams Jordan will be demonstrating hearth cooking in the Daniel Boone cabin. Two authors, Mary Bohlen from Wilkes and Marsha Phillips from Winston-Salem will be at the village to talk about their books. There will be no admission charged. Donations will be greatly appreciated.
- *Frontiersman Daniel Boone lived 20 years in what is now known as the Ferguson community. A video about this American hero will be shown for folks to view from 3 different open doors. We want families to enjoy a safe educational day.
- Please see our Face Book site for more information about Whippoorwill Academy and Village. We are located on NC scenic highway at 11928 hwy. 268 West in Ferguson, NC.
